About Real Life’s mission is to create t-shirts that reflect our state of mind; t-shirts with quotes. So far, we haven’t reinvented the wheel, but we wanted a unique concept: one quote per week for the entire year!

A late bloomer, I only took up painting more seriously in my forties, visual arts seeming like the next step for someone who had always delved in creative and visual disciplines: graphic arts, woodworking and interior design. For the most part I am a self-taught artist, initially experimenting with color and texture with abstract landscapes. Moving into portraiture, I continued working with similar textures and bold colors. As l began this foray into portraits I also completed a certification as a life coach. This had a huge influence on how I approached painting from that point on. Bringing these 2 passions together influenced me to make the emotion the true subject of my work.

Le Centre N A Rive est un organisme sans but lucratif qui, depuis maintenant 45 ans, accompagne les personnes socioéconomiquement défavorisées dans l’amélioration de leurs conditions de vie. Dans le cadre de ses activités de financement pour poursuivre ses mandats d’alphabétisation, de francisation et d’intégration au travail de sa clientèle, ça fera 11 ans en août que le Centre organise, en collaboration avec les éditeurs et les auteurs haïtiens et québécois, la Journée du livre haïtien, une journée qui a su se tailler une place de choix dans le calendrier culturel montréalais.
La Journée du livre haïtien
C’est en 2008, pour souligner alors le 35e anniversaire du Centre N A Rive que fut lancée la 1ère édition de la Journée du livre haïtien. Les objectifs étaient de rapprocher les écrivains haïtiens avec le grand public et les éditeurs qui les publient. Devant le grand succès de cet événement, depuis, nous répétons l’événement la 3e semaine du mois d’août, chaque année. La Journée du livre haïtien est un salon du livre qui se déroule durant une journée. Les livres exposés au grand public sont publiés par des auteurs haïtiens ou portant sur la culture haïtienne. Si l’événement se tient en une seule journée, elle n’en requiert pas moins de nombreux préparatifs et de nombreuses réunions du comité organisateur bénévole et des autres bénévoles. Les premières réunions commencent dès le printemps précédant l’événement.

When they realized how much everyone was fond of their work they decided, in September 2014, to make their products available online. Since then, both owners have been pursuing their dreams in their Montreal studio where every new idea is developed to offer a product of quality at an affordable price.

A mother who is aware that the time of first menstruation is important, that it can be a source of anxiety for a teenager and that it is sometimes difficult for parents to address this issue. Aimed at young girls, the teaching kits provide tips they might not have received and help them make the right choices for their health. Soon, the brand plans to develop kits for other great moments in a woman’s life: the first sexual intercourse, the first pregnancy and menopause among others.
